The president of Leader Settlement Services since 2012, James J. Vassallo Jr. oversees daily operations and produces insurance policies for multimillion-dollar transactions. Apart from his responsibilities with Leader Settlement Services, James J. Vassallo Jr. serves as a board member with the American Friends of Italy.
Established in 2016, the American Friends of Italy celebrates Italian culture and heritage while raising money for children’s organizations in the Philadelphia area. In 2020, for example, the Friends held an annual gala that raised $25,000 for the Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia.
In addition to its annual fundraising gala, the American Friends of Italy organizes monthly dinners at Philadelphia-area Italian restaurants. Usually held on the third Wednesday of the month, the dinner meetings are open to anyone interested in sharing good food, developing new friendships, and building community. The dinners usually include fixed-price appetizers, and attendees must register through the Friends of Italy website at www.americanfriendsofitaly.org.
